Ground-Breaking Entertainment Company Launches With Unique Mission to Benefit
Charities
Mojo Marketing & Media Provides Socially-Responsible Marketing Vehicles to
Raise Awareness and Encourage Involvement
BURBANK, Calif., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Olympic Champion Ed Moses and
leading healthcare attorney Joy Stephenson launched Mojo Marketing & Media,
the first entertainment company whose mission is to encourage people to
develop their personal social conscience, take action and get involved in
making a positive difference in the lives of others. Mojo combines the power
of entertainment with the immediacy of interactive experience in creating
socially-responsible marketing vehicles that raise awareness for charities.
Mojo is an outgrowth of its founders' experience in healthcare, charity,
sports and entertainment and stems from their commitment to increase social
responsibility and community involvement via creative avenues. Mojo will
produce original, compelling family-friendly content - including music,
movies, sports, docudramas, concerts and reality-based content - that spreads
the word about what organizations can do for communities and individuals and
what communities and individuals can do for these organizations.
"There couldn't be a better time than now for Mojo. But unlike other
'feel-good' fundraising projects that are oftentimes short-lived, Mojo is
committed to ongoing efforts to benefit charities through innovative and
engaging entertainment projects utilizing both mainstream and new media
channels," said company founder and president, Joy Stephenson. "Mojo's target
demographic is young adults and other consumers who enjoy and appreciate
exciting, high-quality, original entertainment."
Mojo has a full slate of projects in the works, ranging from live concerts to
sporting events and original programming. First up is "The Moses Project
(TMP)," a reality-based show currently in production featuring Mojo
co-founder, Olympic gold medalist swimmer and professional golfer, Ed Moses.
"TMP," a unique and exhilarating show which pits Moses and his posse against
top athletes and celebrities in unusual contests with more than one million
dollars going to charity, offers a true insiders' look into the competitors'
lives and celebrity lifestyles. Mojo anticipates helping charities raise more
than several million dollars in its first year.
"It's time to roll up our sleeves and work through this, it's time for
neighbors to help neighbors to help strengthen the community. We need to
rediscover the joy of serving our fellow man,"(1) noted Tim Delaney, president
and CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits.
Mojo is especially relevant now as charities face an ever-growing demand for
their services at a time when some are being forced to close their doors.
Philanthropy experts say charities face one of the most daunting fiscal
environments in recent memory and predict that more than 100,000 nonprofit
groups nationwide will fail in the next two years.
"Our first venture, 'The Moses Project,' is a great example of the
entertaining and original work Mojo will produce," said Ed Moses, co-founder
and vice president of Mojo. "As an athlete and Olympian who loves to compete,
I can think of nothing more thrilling than putting it all on the line against
other athletes and celebrities to benefit charity."
All Mojo productions are charity neutral and offer viewers and participants a
way to get immediately involved in socially-responsible organizations or
causes in their own communities and beyond. Mojo will work with a wide array
of charities, depending on the focus and location of the project, and all
charities will be screened to ensure they are organized for the public benefit
and recognized as such by the IRS.
