Today: March 24 - California Hospital Medical Center to Host Launch of
National Project Hangin' Out With My Baby
EVENT: The California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles to host the
launch of Project Hangin' Out With My Baby, a nationwide campaign that will
distribute thousands of free copies of a new CD whose songs celebrate the
special relationship parents have with their newborns, infants and toddlers.
WHAT: With the partnership of National Healthy Start, a non-profit
organization that promotes community-based maternal and child health, and over
200 hospitals nationwide, Project Hangin' Out With My Baby strives to promote
more involved parenting by employing the power of music.
WHO: Dwayne Arvinger, the CD's principal performer and songwriter, will sing
selections from the record and discuss how becoming a father changed his life
and art. He will be joined by his wife Lee Munn Arvinger -- who also sings on
the album -- in giving out and signing free copies of the CD to the city's
newest mothers and fathers.
QUOTE: "Hangin' Out With My Baby" is a wonderful parenting tool to put burning
into the learning of new parents, infants and toddlers. It offers a great way
to relax the relentless rigors of child rearing by transforming parenting
routines into pleasant rituals for both children and parents with educational
and fun songs."
- Dr. Joycelyn Elders, former Surgeon General of the United States
