TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES 

Amlin plc ("Amlin") announces that on 24 March 2009 it transferred from treasury
to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of
its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each ("ordinary shares"): 

15,971 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share; and 

16,959 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share 

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of
8,489,133 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 470,084,306 ordinary shares
in issue (excluding treasury shares).
