Material Sciences Corporation to Begin Trading on OTC Bulletin Board Under
Symbol 'MASC'

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Material Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: MSC), a leading provider of material-based solutions for
acoustical and coated applications, announced that beginning March 25, 2009,
the company's common stock will trade on the OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB) under
the symbol "MASC."  The transition to the OTCBB does not affect the company's
business operations and will not change its obligation to file periodic and
other reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Material Sciences' common stock had traded under the New York Stock Exchange
(NYSE) ticker symbol MSC.  As previously announced, the move to the OTCBB
resulted from the company no longer meeting the NYSE's minimum market
capitalization standard.
