Officials to Tour "Broadband Nation" at Washington Convention Center
WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Legislators, policymakers and other key public officials will speak to
delegates, participate on panels and tour exhibits at The Cable Show `09, April
1-3 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center, the National Cable &
Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said today. Key Members of Congress,
representatives of the Obama Administration, as well as Washington, D.C. Mayor
Adrian Fenty have confirmed their attendance at the U.S. cable industry`s
premier event.
A highlight of the experience for many policymakers will be a tour of "Broadband
Nation," the 20,000-square-foot centerpiece of the Cable Show exhibition floor
which will showcase new and innovative uses of broadband in urban, suburban and
rural settings. The special interactive exhibit will display how broadband has
changed the way we live, work and play and will lead to historic changes in
healthcare, education, entertainment and more.
The following pages list each of the public policy events, which registered
media are welcome to attend. Media registration is available at

television households and more than 200 cable program networks. The cable
industry is the nation`s largest broadband provider of high-speed Internet
access after investing more than $130 billion to build a two-way interactive
network with fiber optic technology. Cable companies also provide
