SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
The wildly successful Toe to Toe, a benefit for ODC Dance Commons
(http://odcdance.org/) and Cal Athletics (http://www.calbears.com/), returns for
the third year to the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco, on April 16,
2009, 6:30-9:30 p.m., for an evening of dancing finesse, offbeat antics, great
camaraderie, and a lot of fun.

In 2008, ODC dancers rematched Cal student-athletes to settle the age-old
question: who`s more fit, dancers or athletes? In strength and agility, ODC beat
Cal yet again. So this year, the athletic edge sharpens with Toe to Toe - Round
3, whose showcase sport will be men`s water polo, with additional challenges in
volleyball, soccer, track and field, golf and swimming.

The judging process is half the fun, with competitions decided by veterans in
their field: beloved San Francisco Ballet principal dancer emeritus Muriel
Maffre; 49er Superbowl champs Harris Barton, Dwight Clark and Ronnie Lott;
aerial dancer Joanna Haigood; and entertainer MC Hammer.

What brings audiences to Toe to Toe is gracious sportsmanship mixed with
edge-of-your seat competitiveness. "The Games create an amazing high, perhaps
the combination of testosterone, sweat and grace!" says Leah Garchik of the San
Francisco Chronicle.

ODC Founder and Artistic Director Brenda Way is gearing up:"This year, Cal
pulled out all the stops. We can`t wait to go head-to-head in the ring and
cheek-to-cheek on the dance floor." Event Chair Warren Hellman is ready: "This
will be a real shoot-out. Once again, Let the games and the dances begin!"

In Toe to Toe: Round 3, ODC dancers and Cal student-athletes are subjected to
tests of skill, strength and agility, with music and cheerleading pumping the
audience. The night ends with an audience favorite, the Toe-to-Toe take on
Dancing with the Stars.
