LONDON, March 24 (Reuters) - UK utility Severn Trent Plc (SVT.L) said on Tuesday it expects its full-year trading performance in the year just ending to have met its expectations and previous guidance.

The utility, which supplies water and sewerage services to more than 3.7 million households and businesses in central England and mid-Wales, said its performance and outlook had not materially changed since its last trading statement on Jan 27.

It is due to report its results for the year ending March 31 on May 29.

Severn Trent previously said its operating spending in the current year and its planned operating cost savings of 30 million pounds over 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 were on track.

It also said at the time that its capital spending was in line with its expectations, although water consumption had fallen and was estimated to cut year-on-year revenue in the 2008/2009 year by about 20-25 million pounds. (Reporting by Philip Waller; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
