Lockheed gets $320 mln US F-35 aircraft deal

WASHINGTON, March 25 (Reuters) - Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) is being awarded a U.S. Navy contract add-on worth up to $320 million for "long lead" items used in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

Work on the contract is expected to be completed in November 2011. The F-35 is being developed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps as well as for eight international partners -- Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Norway.
