Olive Crest:
WHY
Every year, more than 10,000 Coachella Valley children are reported abused or
neglected and must be removed from their homes. Nearly half of these kids have
had to be sent to live outside the Valley due to a lack of safe homes for them
locally…until now.
In April, Olive Crest will open the Coachella Valley Children`s Center-the first
ever of its kind in the region-to 24 local at-risk children who will live in
brand-new homes with thoroughly trained volunteer "safe parents." Another 125
kids will benefit from the Center`s Family Preservation program, which provides
counseling, training, and in-home partnerships that mend and repair unstable
relationships and preserve families wherever possible.
