LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Yang Lan, one of China's most prominent media entrepreneurs, has signed with the high-powered Creative Artists Agency.

Called "China's Oprah," Yang co-founded Sun Media Investment Holding, the country's second-largest privately owned media company. Her business interests include TV production, newspapers, magazines, digital media and a high-end jewelry line.

CAA will represent Yang in all areas with an aim to expand her brand globally.

Yang first rose to national fame as host of CCTV's "Zheng Da Variety Show," China's highest-rated program with 220 million viewers. She went on to create some of the country's most popular shows, including "Yang Lan One on One" and "Her Village," many of them aimed at young women. She turned "Village" into a destination Web site and blog, reaching 200 million people per month.

Yang acted as a goodwill ambassador during the bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games and has spearheaded philanthropic efforts, creating the Sun Culture Foundation to raise awareness about poverty and advance education.

On the political front, she has served since 2003 as a member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an advisory body.
