NEW YORK, March 29 (Reuters) - Now is a good time to buy Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) shares, Barron's reported on Sunday, saying the online retailer's business model is well-suited to the recession.

Amazon.com has an array of benefits over its brick-and-mortar rivals, Barron's said in its March 30 issue, including competitive prices, lower operating costs and consumers not having to waste time or gasoline going to stores.

Even though Amazon.com shares are pricey -- they closed at $70.52 on Friday -- Barron's noted that the company's revenue and earnings per share are growing faster than those of its rivals. It added that if Amazon's Kindle or Web services businesses take off, its prospects will look even brighter. (Reporting by Martinne Geller, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
