MELBOURNE, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
AuthenTec (NASDAQ:AUTH), the world`s leading provider of fingerprint sensors and
solutions, today announced that it has won the Best Partner Award for 2008 by
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS). This prestigious award was presented by ASUS CEO
Jerry Shen in recognition of AuthenTec`s outstanding performance as a
fingerprint sensor supplier to this leading PC manufacturer. AuthenTec sensors
bring touch-powered security, convenience and personalization features to
millions of ASUS notebook PCs.

The Best Partner Award is presented to a select group of suppliers in ASUS` vast
vendor and supplier network who demonstrate excellence in product innovation and
quality, on-time delivery and technical support. The award was presented at
ASUS` 2009 Vendor/Supplier meeting in Taipei on March 13. Other companies
receiving awards at the meeting included Intel, LG and Samsung, among others.

"We greatly appreciate this recognition from one of the fastest growing PC
companies in the world," said AuthenTec President Larry Ciaccia. "The ASUS Best
Partner Award is granted each year to strategic partners with the highest level
of quality and service, and is testament to the quality of our hardware and
software products and a real tribute to the AuthenTec team."

AuthenTec`s fingerprint authentication solution is a key component of end-to-end
security for ASUS` Security Protect Manager (ASPM). ASPM allows ASUS notebooks
to run applications securely and to make transactions and communications more
trustworthy. Instead of using a password to access ASPM, the user may simply
swipe their finger across the AuthenTec fingerprint sensor to ensure secure yet
convenient access to their laptop, its stored files and even favorite web sites.

AuthenTec sensors are based on the Company`s patented TruePrint® technology to
deliver extremely accurate and reliable fingerprint imaging by reading below the
surface of the skin to the live layer, where a person`s true fingerprint
resides. This unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to overcome
common skin surface conditions. TruePrint also allows AuthenTec to provide the
smallest sensors on the market, yet provide all the security, privacy and
convenience afforded in its larger form factor devices.
