29th Management of Change Conference to Feature Keynote Address by Vivek Kundra, First Federal CIO Conference to Focus on Transformation Issues Through Dynamic Tracks, Exciting Plenary Addresses, and A Leadership Breakfast FAIRFAX, Va., March 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Council for Technology (ACT) announced its 29th annual Management of Change Conference (MOC) entitled, "Orienteering Change: Charting a Course for Transformation." The MOC will be held at the Marriott Norfolk Waterside from Sunday, May 31st through Tuesday, June 2nd and will focus on "mapping out" the best manner in which to respond to new government IT requirements. Topics to be explored include: cost effectiveness and financial accountability; green technology; increased efficiency; and identifying new and expanded tools for IT operations, such as social networking. Workshop tracks will offer collaborative opportunities to federal, state, and local government IT officials and private sector contractors. Vivek Kundra, the nation's first Federal CIO, will deliver the opening keynote address on Monday evening. He will offer his view on the position of federal CIO and other IT issues. "We are delighted to welcome Mr. Kundra and our other speakers and panel members," said Casey Coleman, government co-chair of the 2009 MOC. "We are specifically focusing on the issues that revolve around transition and transformation and have created a powerful program which includes four dynamic workshop sessions, outstanding keynote and plenary speakers and a popular, more intimate, leadership breakfast. The challenges that we're facing have also been woven into our program.. We are using this conference, in part, to discuss and exchange ideas about some of those challenges such as managing the upcoming workforce, learning what Web 2.0 has to offer, and how to be a positive 'change agent' bringing organizational development programs to our agencies and companies." "As a non-profit, collaborative organization, we've been able to present the new administration with white papers detailing some of our thoughts on utilizing IT to help serve the citizens better," said Joe Dawson, industry co-chair of the 2009 MOC. "We hope to help the incoming administration by being an impartial resource for them. By facilitating robust dialogue at this conference between industry and government we feel we can collaborate on ways to measure the effectiveness of various programs within an agency or organization, discuss workforce and other generational challenges common to both of us, and help each other rethink managing data in a new and more dynamic knowledge management environment. We're pleased that this is one of the more popular conferences every year. To that end, we encourage everyone to register early as we have limited space to accommodate participants." Registration is now open to government and industry. The complete schedule and all registration information are available at the ACT website: www.actgov.org/MOC2009. Attendance is limited to 450 government and industry executives in order to facilitate maximum collaboration and communication. Additionally, a number of sponsorship opportunities remain.
