WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(Business Wire)-- The Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I; http://www.ws-i.org) announced today that it will participate in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's (HIMSS) Healthcare IT Conference and Exhibition (http://www.himssconference.org/). The event takes place at Chicago's McCormick Place, April 4-8; WS-I representatives will be on hand in Booth #3177 to answer questions about the organization and its work, and how to join WS-I. WS-I is an open industry organization chartered to establish and document Best Practices for Web Services interoperability. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS; http://www.himss.org/ASP/index.asp) is an industry membership organization focused on the optimal use of healthcare information technology and management systems, and the April event is its annual conference. HIMSS attendees are encouraged to meet and talk with WS-I representatives about how WS-I works to establish Best Practices for selected sets of Web Services Standards. Attendees will learn how these compiled Best Practices, known as Profiles, can assist healthcare industry participants in developing and deploying secure and interoperable Web services across their networks and supply chains. In addition, WS-I offers supporting Testing Tools to check that a deployed instance of a Web service does not appear to violate the requirements specified in a Profile.
