Chief Scientist Ismael J. Hidalgo, Ph.D to present on novel cell-based models
for studying drug interactions with efflux transporters
EXTON, Pa.--(Business Wire)--
Absorption Systems LP today announced that Ismael J. Hidalgo, Ph.D., Chief
Scientist for Absorption Systems will be presenting at an upcoming workshop
hosted by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. The workshop,
entitled "Drug Transporters in ADME: From the Bench to the Bedside," will take
place March 30-April 1, 2009 in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Hidalgo`s presentation, entitled "Novel cell-based models for studying
interactions of drugs with efflux transporters," will take place April 1st at
9:00 AM.

"Examining efflux transporters in order to gain insight into drug-drug
interactions is increasingly important to pharmaceutical companies as part of
their development process," commented Dr. Hidalgo. "This presentation will
examine some of the novel and effective cell-based techniques that are
available, a timely topic as potential drug interactions are under increased
scrutiny by regulatory bodies."

Life sciences companies such as Alcon, AstraZeneca and Merck select Absorption
Systems to perform ADME studies and provide analyses that offer insight into
potential drug-drug interactions. These companies choose Absorption Systems
based on its deep expertise, ability to develop new analytical methods,
differentiated technology, audited facilities, speed, customer service and
pricing.
