DUBLIN, Ireland--(Business Wire)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e9e95a/at_the_edge_of_the) has announced the addition of the "AT THE EDGE OF THE STORM: IT Investments from Jan/08 through Feb/09" report to their offering. Between January 1, 2008 and February 28,2009, we sampled an IT buyer population of 3,954 for quantitative research across a broad array of topics from virtualization, to service desk adoption, to end-to-end application management, to patterns of CMDB System adoption, among others. Throughout the course of this research, EMA consistently asked questions regarding IT budgets, including the percentage of increase, decrease. In certain reports, budgets specific to certain management software initiatives were also singled out, as were questions regarding shifting priorities in the downturn. Research analytics also allowed EMA to assess these trends in terms of company size, verticals, and geographic clusters. This report provides quarterly insights into IT budgetary trends and suggests that while IT spending overall is modestly on the decrease, management software as applied to certain key areas, such as virtualization, process automation and CMDB System adoption, appear to be bright spots in an overall dark economic constellation. A few sample quotes from focal interviews underscore the fact that many of these solutions are viewed as part of the cure rather than the "disease" - as IT organizations and the businesses they support seek to work smarter and differently than before. Key Topics Covered: * Executive Introduction * EMA Research * Quarterly Summaries: January 2008 - March 2009 * A Look Across Industries * Some Reasons for Optimism * Looking Back and Forward For more information visit http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e9e95a/at_the_edge_of_the Research and Markets Laura Wood Senior Manager press@researchandmarkets.com Fax from USA: 646-607-1907 Fax from rest of the world: +353-1-481-1716 Copyright Business Wire 2009
