PASCO, WA and POCATELLO, ID, Mar 30 (MARKET WIRE) --
Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way
Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced it is accelerating transit times
between Washington's Tri-Cities area and eastern Idaho to support local
business needs for faster deliveries during the region's peak planting
season for the agricultural industry.

"Agricultural customers in eastern Idaho typically need more frequent
deliveries at this time of year for products such as seed, fertilizer,
equipment and other goods, which are in high demand during the prime
spring planting season," said Tim Dell, Con-way's area vice president for
the western United States. "We are adjusting our operations with
additional resources to support the needs of local agricultural producers
for reliable daily freight service. With the flexibility of our network,
we can respond quickly to surges in volumes and for specific regional
market or seasonal needs of our customers."

Con-way Freight will begin five-day-a-week next-day service for the region
starting today, March 30. The enhanced service will be available to
shippers for approximately 14 weeks through July 2. The seasonal surge
typically involves goods moving from the Tri-Cities area of Washington to
the agricultural regions of eastern Idaho. Cities benefiting from the
accelerated service include Pasco, Kennewick and Richland, Wash., and
Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Rexburg and Burley, Idaho.

The company previously provided two-day service between these communities.
Shippers interested in the accelerated service can obtain more information
by calling Con-way Freight's local service centers in Pasco, Wash.
(509-546-0573), or Pocatello, Idaho (208-233-4981).
