Respondents clearly favor immediate table games expansion

WASHINGTON, Pa., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania residents
overwhelmingly support immediate table games expansion, according to a
statewide poll by Susquehanna Polling and Research.

The poll found 60 percent of respondents support expanding Pennsylvania's slot
machine law to include table games. Additionally, 80 percent of those in
favor of table games want the state to legalize them immediately rather than
wait for all state-approved casinos to open.

The results are similar to the Franklin & Marshall College/Times-Shamrock
Newspapers poll released last week that found 63 percent of those surveyed
favor table games expansion.

"The Susquehanna poll is yet another strong indication that Pennsylvanians
are ready for table games," said Bill Paulos, a principal with Cannery Casino
Resorts (CCR), which owns The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. "Our guests at The
Meadows repeatedly ask about table games and are eager to see them in
Pennsylvania."

Table games expansion would have a dramatic and immediate positive effect on
the local job market and economy in southwestern Pennsylvania. The Meadows
would nearly double its employment by creating about 700 family-sustaining
jobs, and investment in the local and regional economy would increase.

"The Meadows certainly would benefit from table games, but this is a real
opportunity for the partnership between the gaming industry and state
government to truly benefit thousands of Pennsylvanians by putting people to
work and investing in local goods and services," Paulos said. "No other
public-private partnership could make the same claim under the current
economic conditions."

CCR is investing more than $450 million into The Meadows. About 1,000 local
jobs were created for construction of the temporary and permanent casinos.
Nearly all construction was done with the assistance of local construction
companies. When opened, the permanent casino will provide about 1,000
permanent family-sustaining jobs, filled mostly by area residents.
Additionally, The Meadows purchases 95 percent of all goods and services from
local companies for its day-to-day operation.

The 350,000-square-foot casino, set to open April 15, will feature more than
3,700 slot machines and integrate the long-standing tradition of harness
racing at The Meadows with state-of-the-art gaming facilities. It also will
provide eight great places to eat including three featured dining venues: a
premier steak house, a specialty restaurant overlooking the racetrack and a
diverse food court. A centrally located lounge and bar will feature panoramic
views of both the gaming floor and the racetrack.

Plans also include a boutique-style bowling alley that promises to capture the
growing popularity of the sport, but in a setting that will create a nightclub
feel. It will feature a creative menu and stylish lounge space.
