Winston-Salem Store to Offer 24-hour Drive Thru and Complete Menu of Specialty

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Krispy Kreme
Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) announces the grand opening of its newest Doughnut
Factory & Kremery in Winston-Salem, hometown of the legendary brand. The
2,500-square-foot store, located at 5912 University Parkway, will serve up all
of Krispy Kreme's unique offerings including its one-of-a-kind doughnut
varieties; signature coffees and espresso drinks; and its brand new line of
Kool Kreme(R) soft serve treats, Krispy Kreme Chillers(R) and iced beverages.

Krispy Kreme will celebrate the store's opening on Tuesday, March 31 beginning
at 5:30 a.m., and the first 100 customers will receive a commemorative Krispy
Kreme T-shirt. Customers can also enjoy free samples of Kool Kreme soft serve
cones and Krispy Kreme's new mini doughnuts.

The new University Parkway location will be the first store in Winston-Salem
to offer Krispy Kreme's Kool Kreme soft serve menu of traditional cones,
shakes and specialty doughnut sundaes, all paired with a toppings bar.

A ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. will feature Krispy Kreme executives,
including Jim Morgan, president and CEO; Cindy Bay, senior vice president of
company store operations; and Steve Wymer, market manager for North Carolina.
The store marks Krispy Kreme's fifth Triad location and is expected to employ
approximately 30 people from the Winston-Salem area.

Pattie Petty, founder and CEO of Victory Junction, will attend the ceremony
and announce a limited-time charity promotion between Victory Junction and
Krispy Kreme. The company's support will help children with chronic medical
conditions or serious illnesses by providing them with life-changing camping
experiences.
