Apangea Learning Offering Free Extended Licenses to Help Schools Gain Obama
Educational Stimulus Funding
PITTSBURGH, March 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Apangea Learning Inc.,
(www.apangealearning.com), leaders in personalized, one-to-one online tutoring
for students across the country, said today that for a limited time it will
add a no-charge third year to two-year contracts to help schools win new
federal funding that is part of the Obama Administration's estimated $100
billion outlay for additional educational support.

The Obama Administration's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
economic stimulus program includes new funding opportunities for supplemental
learning programs that Apangea offers. ARRA features additional funding for
various federal educational programs, including Title I, Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for special education and State
Stabilization funding.
The federal government's education stimulus programs require commitments to
raise academic standards, improve test results and help poorly performing
students, among other targets.
"This is a critical time for school administrators. They are moving quickly to
secure vital funding to enhance their ability to help their students most in
need," said Gerry Balbier, Apangea executive vice president. "Our incentive
package will help school systems leverage the new federal funding available to
them so that they can create more opportunity for long-term student success."
Balbier added that Apangea's new free contract extension offer includes both
the company's Apangea Math and Apangea Writing programs for schools that
purchase and pay for two years of service.
"Our programs extend the reach of teachers to help close achievement gaps.
Apangea tutors see what the students are working on and prevent them from
going down the wrong path in their learning. The process is ideal for
struggling and at-risk students because it provides built-in intervention when
a student needs it. We are the only online learning service to offer
one-on-one tutoring with U.S.-certified tutors," explained Balbier. "With
Apangea, students have the safety net they need to succeed."
