Bond will also talk about the need for President Obama to enlist the support
of European and NATO allies on his overseas trip this week. Bond has been a
critic of NATO for failing in its responsibility to provide security in the
Afghanistan-Pakistan region.

Following last year's election, Bond sent President-elect Obama and the
members of his national security team his own report outlining the path
forward for Pakistan-Afghanistan that urged the incoming administration to
embrace a new and comprehensive regional approach. Bond returned from his
latest visit to Afghanistan and Pakistan in December 2008.

Christopher S. 'Kit' Bond serves as the vice chairman of the Senate Select
Intelligence Committee. Bond, Missouri's senior senator, was elected to the
United States Senate in 1986 and is a senior member of the Senate
Appropriations Committee.
