Action on the part of UnitedHealthcare will bring needed assistance to hundreds
of victims

MAGEE, Miss.--(Business Wire)--
UnitedHealthcare will deliver assistance to tornado victims, in the form of
$10,000 in financial assistance to the American Red Cross and free help-line
services in the town of Magee, Miss., struck Thursday morning by the tornado.
Working together, in coordination with the American Red Cross, the assistance is
being provided by two sister operating businesses, UnitedHealthcare by
AmeriChoice and OptumHealth, and UnitedHealthcare`s parent, UnitedHealth Group.

* Support for the American Red Cross - A $5,000 donation will go to the American
Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund from UnitedHealthcare by AmeriChoice,
UnitedHealth Group`s Medicaid managed care business. "Many people`s lives have
been seriously disrupted by this disaster," said Norine Yukon, executive
director of UnitedHealthcare by AmeriChoice in Mississippi. "Our hearts go out
to the injured and those who have lost property, homes and businesses as a
result of this tornado. We want to support organizations that can immediately
have a positive impact for the people affected."

In addition to the AmeriChoice donation, as part of the Company`s new two-year
commitment to disaster relief, UnitedHealth Group will allocate $5,000 to the
American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, from its Annual Disaster Giving Program
(ADGP) commitment to benefit disaster victims like those affected by the Magee
tornado. UnitedHealth Group is the first and only health and well-being company
to be an ADGP Member. The donation will allow the Red Cross to provide support
for shelters, meals, and clean-up and comfort kits, as well as mental health
support for families and the community of Magee.

"UnitedHealth Group is a committed partner of the Red Cross in disaster
preparedness and relief," said Michael Brown, Vice President of Corporate and
Foundation Partnerships at the American Red Cross. "Through their support of the
Annual Disaster Giving Program, we are able to respond immediately to provide
lifesaving services to families and communities during disasters like the recent
tornado in Mississippi."

* Help Line for Community Residents - OptumHealth, one of the nation`s largest
consumer health services companies, will provide free access to its Help Line
staffed by experienced medical professionals. The toll-free Help Line will
assist Magee residents in dealing with stress and anxiety and can be accessed by
calling 1-866-342-6892. It will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
for as long as necessary. Resources and information are also available via the
