'One of the UK's most underrated songwriters, Paul Carrack is also a gifted
one-man-band in the mould of McCartney.' - The Independent
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- A remarkable vocalist, musician
and songwriter influenced by the Beatles and Northern Soul, Paul Carrack is
back and ready for his reintroduction to U.S. listeners who already know him
well not only by his solo work (2003's "It Ain't Over"), but by his many hits
with the band Ace, Mike & The Mechanics and Squeeze. On May 5th, 429 Records
will release Paul Carrack's new album -- I KNOW THAT NAME -- an all new
collection of songs written and performed by one of the UK's finest talents.
On this, Carrack's fourteenth album overall, he's produced an effortlessly
soulful suite of 12 new compositions, most of which he played every instrument
except for the horns. Executive produced by Dave Robinson (founder of the
legendary Stiff Records label), Paul Carrack is also joined by guests Timothy
B. Schmit and Don Henley of The Eagles on "I Don't Want To Hear It Any More"
(which he wrote with fellow Squeeze member Chris Difford). The First single
to radio is the funky groove showcase "No Doubt About It" (going for adds at
AC and Triple A radio April 21st). In addition to releasing I KNOW THAT NAME
on May 5th, 429 Records will re-release Paul Carrack's 2003 label debut, IT
AIN'T OVER.
