HONG KONG, March 30 (Reuters) - Hong Kong's main share index tumbled 4.7 percent on Monday, its biggest single-day drop in three weeks, as losses accelerated after the White House rejected turnaround plans of ailing automakers General Motors and Chrysler.

Worse-than-expected earnings also pressured some blue chip counters, with China Construction Bank (0939.HK) falling 9.6 percent and Chalco (2600.HK) slumping 12 percent.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI closed 663.17 points lower at 13,456.33.

The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top mainland firms was down 6.9 percent at 7,900.09.
