Greece's OTE sells Cosmofon unit to Telekom Slovenije

ATHENS, March 30 | Mon Mar 30, 2009 3:57am EDT

ATHENS, March 30 (Reuters) - Greece's biggest telephone company OTE (OTEr.AT) OTE.N agreed to sell its Macedonian mobile phone unit Cosmofon and retail chain Germanos Telekom Skopje to Slovenia's Telekom Slovenije (TLSG.LJ), it said on Monday.

OTE agreed to sell the units for 190 million euros ($251.3 million). OTE had to sell Cosmofon for regulatory reasons after Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE) bought a 25 percent stake in the Greek company last year. (Reporting by Harry Papachristou)
