Relationship Expands PGP Corporation's Market Reach for Security Solutions
Focused on Data at Rest, Data in Use and Data in Motion

MENLO PARK, Calif. and TEMPE, Ariz., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- PGP Corporation,
a leader in enterprise data protection, announced today it has signed a
distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions, an operating group of
Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT). Under the agreement, technology solutions distributor
Avnet will distribute the PGP(R) Encryption Platform and Solutions to
value-added resellers (VARs) in the United States and Canada. Together, PGP
Corporation and Avnet will provide industry-specific security solutions and
services that address the growing customer demand to holistically protect
their core asset: data.

"Significant growth opportunities exist for solution providers with expertise
in data protection and data security across multiple, untapped market
segments," said Gavin Miller, vice president and general manager of Technology
Infrastructure Solutions at Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. "The PGP
Corporation technology coupled with Avnet's value-added solutions, services
and market enablement programs will give our partners a competitive advantage
and help them provide comprehensive technology solutions."

Avnet will incorporate the award-winning PGP Corporation data protection
product portfolio across its key lines of business, enabling partners to offer
more comprehensive multi-vendor technology solutions based on Avnet's
portfolio of complementary solutions from market-leading storage and high-end
server vendors. Additionally, partners will be able to capitalize on Avnet's
enablement programs to gain expertise in high-growth markets, such as
security, government and healthcare.

"The increasing number of data breaches resulting from stolen or lost mobile
devices confirms the critical need for large and small businesses to
strengthen their data protection capabilities via encryption," said Christina
Richmond, research manager in the Infrastructure Channels and Alliances
Research Team at IDC. "This positive agreement utilizes Avnet's deep
relationships in the channel to distribute PGP Corporation's data protection
solutions to a set of channel partners previously untapped for PGP Corporation
in the United States. Given the current economic climate, the channel needs
new offerings to provide customers with cost savings and flexibility to
protect critical data assets and fulfill business needs. The inking of this
relationship will give the channel just that and should benefit both PGP
Corporation and Avnet."

PGP Corporation is the only data protection vendor in the market that provides
an end-to-end encryption platform that secures data from the endpoint all the
way to the mainframe. The PGP Encryption Platform provides the ability to
centrally manage and automate data security policies by application, as well
as location -- no matter where the data resides. PGP(R) solutions enable SMBs
and large enterprises to safeguard their business and personal data, as well
as comply with industry and regulatory compliance mandates.

"Our relationship with Avnet is a key pillar in the execution of PGP
Corporation's new channel strategy and initiatives," said Lee Finck, senior
director of worldwide channels at PGP Corporation. "With Avnet, we will expand
our data protection market footprint in the United States and Canada. We will
raise the bar on providing value-added data security solutions that will
enable partners to capitalize on the increase in IT security spending and
obtain a viable path to business growth even during an economic downturn."
