Rentrak Announces Linear Television Measurement Agreement With HDNet to
Provide Detailed Analytics and Reporting on High Definition Content
PORTLAND, Ore., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq:
RENT) today announced it has entered into a linear measurement deal with HDNet
LLC, who through their networks is the high definition(HD) home for unique
content and provocative, authentic programming. Rentrak will be the data
source for third party reporting and measurement and will allow HDNet access
to detailed analytics from more than three million set-top-boxes in order to
continue to deliver the largest and most diverse HD content options.
Rentrak is uniquely qualified to analyze viewing patterns for HDNet and HDNet
Movies programming as high definition becomes a more important viewing
alternative for sports, movies and music. Accurate viewership measurement and
the ability to examine the differences in viewing patterns for HD content will
play a key role in helping HDNet continue to expand and monetize its content
offerings which include, "HDNet World Report," and the Emmy Award winning "Dan
Rather Reports" in addition to HDNet's championship sports coverage and its
various HD concert and movie programming.
Rentrak's TV Essentials offers a new alternative in linear television audience
measurement by providing anonymous, second-by-second audience viewing data
from millions of digital set-top boxes. TV Essentials addresses the specific
needs of networks, TV Stations and advertisers by providing access to viewing
data for all networks and all programs across 37 markets. Today's
conventional techniques and products cannot match the granularity, volume of
