IPL Is Awarded Three New Waste Handling Products Contracts

SAINT-DAMIEN, QUEBEC, Apr 07 (MARKET WIRE) --
IPL Inc. (TSX: IPI.A), one of North America's leading manufacturers of
plastic products, has been awarded three new contracts totaling
approximately $5.5 million to manufacture Waste Handling products.
Production will take place at the Saint-Damien facility.

The most important contract is for the production and distribution to 14
municipalities on Montreal's West Island, of up to 60,000 wheeled carts
with capacities of 120, 240 and 360 litres to be used in the collection
of recyclable materials. Deliveries will be made between the end of April
and the end of August 2009.

The second mandate, awarded by the city of Whitehorse, Yukon, consists of
the production of approximately 12,000, 240-litre wheeled carts to be
delivered by the end of the current month. The mandate includes the
supply of wheeled carts for the collection of waste and composting of
organic materials, the latter to be carried out with IPL's Bio Cart, an
environmentally-conscious solution that provides benefits for both users
and operators.

The final contract authorizes the production of nearly 7,000 wheeled
carts with capacities of 120 and 240 litres to be used in the collection
of waste and recyclable materials in Williams Lake, British Columbia.
Cart deliveries are also scheduled for April 2009.
