SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y.--(Business Wire)--
Steve Meyer, executive vice president and president of U.S. and Canada Business
for Welch Allyn, won the prestigious Leonard Berke Achievement Award at the
Spring Conference of the Healthcare Manufacturers Management Council (HMMC).
Meyer was acknowledged for his commitment and contributions to the healthcare
industry and his years of service to HMMC, serving as a board member and on many
task forces.

Given to celebrate and recognize the life and work of Leonard Berke, former
president of Cincinnati Sub-Zero Inc., who died in 1997, this award recognizes
HMMC members who exemplify the spirit of Leonard Berke in the areas of ethics,
mentoring, marketing skill, industry knowledge, contributions to the industry
and contributions to HMMC.

Eileen Berke, Leonard Berke`s widow, presented the 2009 award at the conference.
She commented that her husband had always had a great deal of respect for Mr.
Meyer and upon meeting him for the first time said that "he was a bright and
ambitious young man who will do great things for the healthcare industry."

"It was a touching ceremony with Eileen Berke [Leonard`s widow] making the
presentation," Meyer said. "I was speechless. Len was one of those guys who gave
far more to the industry than he ever took. I wish he was still around."

At Welch Allyn, Mr. Meyer oversees the entire portfolio of products and services
for U.S. and Canada, including sales, marketing, distributor relations, customer
service, market sensing, global category management and research and

from the University of Rochester. He serves on the board of directors for the
Health Industry Distributors Association Foundation, MedTech (Central New York
