PORTLAND, OR, Apr 07 (MARKET WIRE) --
Box Office Tickets Inc., the first ticketing company to bring Web 2.0 to
local arts and cultural communities, announces AbsolutelyTix(TM)
(www.absolutelytix.com) -- a new ticketing network for Salem and Marion
and Polk counties.
AbsolutelyTix(TM) is a free service offered by Box Office Tickets in
partnership with Travel Salem, which promotes area tourism. The new
AbsolutelyTix(TM) network makes it easy for local arts, non-profit, and
other community organizations to promote events, sell tickets and transact
other business over the Internet. It also provides a single source of
online information about upcoming local shows and events.
"We're pleased to partner with Travel Salem to create a local ticketing
network that will help connect people to events and support the local
economy," says George Domurot, President/CEO of Box Office Tickets Inc.
"Our online ticketing and transaction capabilities combined with Travel
Salem's marketing and visitor outreach enables local organizations to
promote their events and sell tickets to a much broader audience through
the network."
Angie Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Travel Salem, says,
"AbsolutelyTix(TM) furthers our mission to be a comprehensive resource for
visitors through our Travel Cafe, which will now serve as a centralized
ticketing outlet. It also gives us the opportunity to support our local
nonprofit organizations and partners by providing a much-needed service
for ticketing. We partnered with Box Office Tickets because of its
state-of-the-art ticketing, access to services and local focus. What's
more," notes Morris, "Five cents from each ticket sold on
www.absolutelytix.com will be donated to an area non-profit organization
each year."
"Giving movie-goers the ability to quickly select a film and conveniently
buy tickets online has long been part of our strategy," says Loretta
Miles, Executive Director of Salem Film Festival. "Box Office Tickets has
made that happen for us. The timing is perfect for the Salem Film
Festival, which runs from April 17-26, 2009."
Opportunities for State-Wide Efficiencies
AbsolutelyTix(TM) is the third local ticketing network built for an Oregon
community by Box Office Tickets. The PDX Ticket Network(TM)
(www.pdxtix.net), launched in February 2008, serves the Portland metro
area and the Rogue Ticket Network(TM) (www.roguetix.net), launched last
month, serves the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. Growth in all three
communities also creates new state-wide opportunities for the sharing of
resources among arts and non-profit organizations. Since its founding
last year, for example, the PDX Ticket Network(TM) has grown to include
more than 245 organizations.
AbsolutelyTix(TM) for Partners: Connecting to Audiences
The AbsolutelyTix(TM) network is open to all theaters and groups with
ticketing needs in Salem and Marion and Polk Counties. There are no fees
for network partner organizations. For example, groups selling a $20
ticket through the network get $20 back for each sale. Customers pay a
small service fee of $1 and five percent of the ticket price for the
convenience of using the online network.
AbsolutelyTix(TM) for Members: Connecting to Events
Individuals can register for free on www.absolutelytix.com, where they can
also indicate which organizations and types of local performances, shows
and other events are of interest to them. Members receive a weekly
personal digest with information on upcoming shows, events and promotions
that match their interests.
