TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES 

Amlin plc ("Amlin") announces that on 7 April 2009 it transferred from treasury
to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of
its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each ("ordinary shares"): 

6,195 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share 

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of
8,456,910 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 470,116,529 ordinary shares
in issue (excluding treasury shares).
