IRVINE, CA, Apr 07 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Harvard Business School Association of Orange County (HBSAOC) and Los
Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) today announced their keynote speaker
line-up including Meg Whitman, former President and CEO of eBay, and Jack
Massimino, CEO of Corinthian Colleges Inc., at the upcoming Southern
California Business Growth Conference. The annual conference unites
business and industry influencers, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and
economic visionaries to match talent and business concepts with money and
other resources. The event takes place April 20, 2009 at the Anaheim
Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, Calif.

"The insights from industry powerhouses -- Meg Whitman and Jack Massimino
-- will be among the highlights for attendees of the Southern California
Business Growth Conference," said Gregory Soukup, conference chair of
LAVA. "We have created a value-added program that helps guide businesses
in spurring continued economic growth in today's challenging market."

Meg Whitman, a Harvard Business School graduate, will serve as the keynote
speaker during the conference's noon luncheon. Whitman served as eBay's
president and CEO for 10 years, growing the company from 30 employees and
$4.7 million in revenue to more than 15,000 employees, almost $8 billion
in revenue and 300 million registered users (12 million in California).
With her consumer marketing acumen and managerial expertise, she not only
catapulted the online marketplace to unprecedented heights, but also
established a creative business environment that has empowered millions of
people to fulfill their entrepreneurial ambitions through buying and
selling on the Web.

Jack Massimino will address the forum as the morning keynote speaker
beginning at 8:30 a.m. Massimino serves as the chairman and CEO of
Corinthian Colleges Inc., which has more than 100 schools in the U.S. and
Canada and offers degrees and certificates in healthcare, automotive
technology, criminal justice, technology and other areas. The $1 billion
Orange County-based higher education institution is thriving with its
10,000 full- and part-time employees, and its growing student base of
individuals seeking post-secondary education and training to remain
competitive in today's business market.

Tap into the Conference's Resources and Meet the Money

The conference will also feature 24 panels of experts on money-raising,
people management, marketing and technology, providing the informational
equivalent to a mini-MBA.

In addition, attendees will have the chance to 'meet the money' at The
Capital Zone(R), a forum where leading venture capitalists, private equity
investors, and lenders representing billions of dollars in available
capital will seek their next high-potential investments. The Capital Zone
will run concurrently to the panel discussions and networking sessions in
the late afternoon, and provide interested attendees an opportunity to
meet those in the venture capital and investment community to share ideas,
discuss opportunities and forge potential new relationships.

    Unprecedented Pre-Event Networking Opportunities

Before the event begins, the pre-event social media site NING allows
pre-registered attendees to take advantage of the opportunity to connect
with the Golden Networks of HBSAOC and LAVA, as well as panelists,
speakers and fellow attendees, to maximize their participation in the
conference.

Early bird registration is $299 and $149 for students, and is now
available until April 10, 2009. After that, the conference fee will
increase to $349 and $175 for students. To register or for more
