…features diverse fiber paths and redundant power supply
HOUSTON--(Business Wire)--
Alpheus Communications, an operator of interconnected data centers across Texas,
announced today the opening of its newest facility at Two Shell Plaza in
Downtown Houston. Two Shell, also known as 777 Walker Street, is a Class A
building managed by Hines. Two Shell is known for its extensive fiber optic
connections. The 5500 square foot raised-floor suite was extensively upgraded by
Alpheus to accommodate the power supply and HVAC requirements of modern
information technology configurations. Initial colocation tenants include:
Synergy Data DS Enterprises, Contech Control Services and The Marker Group.

Chip Robertson, Senior Vice President of Sales for Alpheus said, "There is a
shortage of this kind of hardened data center space in Houston generally. This
location should help our customers who need access to their servers, but also
want to have redundancy in critical functions like power and connectivity." A
combination of factors have forced servers out of office closets and into data
centers in recent years. "Public companies can no longer tolerate that kind of
exposure, and other folks are just tired of worrying about business continuity,
increasing power density, or a lack of bandwidth choices," Robertson added.
Banks, local healthcare providers and energy clients are likely to utilize the
new location because of the opportunity to leverage Alpheus` extensive fiber
footprint across all of the major Texas metro areas.
