EU3C Granted Patent for Filmscan II Technology

Standalone Film Scanner Enables Quick Conversion of Slides and Negatives without
a Computer

officially been granted patents in both Japan and Taiwan for its proprietary
standalone film scanning technology, which serves as the core of its Filmscan II
product. The technology covered by the patent incorporates a CMOS array sensor
and is capable of executing the preview, scanning and storage functions of a
slide and negative film converter without connecting to a computer. EU3C has
patents pending for the Standalone Film Scanner in the USA, the European Union,
South Korea and China and expects issuance in the near future.

built-in LCD display, store the saved pictures directly to an SD card and then

EU3C`s Filmscan II has been available since November 2008. It incorporates a 5
million pixel CMOS array sensor, a 2.4" TFT LCD display, high MTF lenses,
automatic exposure and color compensation, and an easy-to-understand user
interface to produce stunning 1800 dpi (3600 dpi interpolated) digital images in
less than one second per scanned image. It also comes equipped with slide and
film holder trays and a cleaning brush to ensure high-quality scans.

The Filmscan II is EU3C`s second generation film scanner. The first generation
unit, Filmscan I, is a USB peripheral device which creates positive images from
negative images in real time and enables easy and rapid picture manipulation all
from the same, easy to use EU3C interface.
