Obama: Iraq security keeps US troop pullout on track

BAGHDAD, April 7 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said there had been enormous progress on security in Iraq and he was sticking to the plan to withdraw all U.S. troops by 2011.

Obama, making his first presidential visit to Iraq, told reporters he had assured Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki that the United States had "no claim on Iraqi territory and resources."

"The drawdown that will take place will ultimately result in the removal of all US troops by 2011," Obama said after his talks with Maliki at the residence of the U.S. commander in Iraq on a military base. (Editing by Tim Pearce)
