Pentagon mum on possible action over ship hijack
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Defense Department said on Wednesday it would not discuss possible military action to free a U.S.-flagged container ship seized by pirates in the Indian Ocean.
"I just don't want to comment on what future military operations we might take," said Bryan Whitman, a Pentagon spokesman. He said he had no information to suggest any harm had been done to the 20 or so crew members, whom he said were all believed to be U.S. citizens.
