Dassault says no word on Indian fighter tender

PARIS, April 16 (Reuters) - Dassault Aviation (AVMD.PA) said on Thursday it had not been informed of any decision to eliminate its Rafale warplane from a potential major Indian arms deal and said France was seeking clarification.

An Indian defence ministry spokesman said earlier the French aircraft maker was out of the running in a tender for a $10 billion contract to supply India with 126 multi-role fighter jets because it had not met unspecified requirements.

"So far Rafale International has received no information from official Indian sources on this matter," a Dassault spokesman said.

"French officials are inquiring with Indian authorities in order to get additional information about it," he added.

Rafale International is a marketing entity comprising Dassault and its main industrial partners on the project, radar maker Thales (TCFP.PA) and engine maker Safran (SAF.PA).
