Teamsters Union to Throw Support Behind Popular Secretary of State

Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa will join Teamster members from across
Missouri at a rally and press conference on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 12 p.m.
at Teamsters Joint Council 56 to announce the union's endorsement of Secretary
of State Robin Carnahan for U.S. Senate.

Carnahan brings a proven record of serving and protecting Missourians as
Secretary of State. Her work fighting investment fraud has earned her national
recognition as a leader in securities law enforcement. Carnahan promoted
consumer and investor education as a priority during her time as Secretary of
State, developing an Investor Bill of Rights to help protect Missouri's
citizens from fraud. She is the right leader for hardworking Missourians
during this time of economic uncertainty.

Carnahan's widespread popularity and her commitment to Missouri led to her
re-election in November 2008, when she received more votes than any candidate
in the state's history.
