Zmanda Recovery Manager 3.1 is Announced; Company to Demo Backup of MySQL to the
Sun Cloud at This Week`s MySQL Conference and Expo

an upgrade to its Zmanda Recovery Manager (ZRM) for MySQL backup and recovery
solution. Among the new ZRM 3.1 features is a visual log analyzer, which allows
database administrators (DBAs) to identify operator errors, catch malicious
database changes, and easily revert errors or malicious events by restoring
information from previous backups.

Zmanda also announced that it will demonstrate backup of MySQL to the upcoming
storage cloud offering from Sun Microsystems at this week`s MySQL Conference and
Expo. Zmanda anticipates releasing its backup of MySQL to the Sun Cloud Storage
offering this summer, concurrent with the general availability of the Sun Cloud.
This offering will allow DBAs to create disaster recovery archives of their
MySQL databases on a flexible and open public cloud.

ZRM 3.1 is the first solution to visually show database events in an intuitive
manner, and gives complete control of the recovery to the DBA. The built-in
visual log analyzer is optimized to scale to millions of database events, which
can be quickly searched. The DBA is given powerful options to include or exclude
selected events while performing a point-in-time recovery.

these applications after a mishap becomes complex as well," said Paddy
