COSTA MESA, CA, Apr 20 (MARKET WIRE) --
Tecella has released the Apollo, the world's first full-featured
multi-channel patch clamp amplifier capable of simultaneous recording
from 384 channels. With the availability of the Apollo, Automatic Patch
Clamp (APC) manufacturers will now be able to develop ion channel
screening systems capable of 20,000 data points per day.
"The Apollo can record at 20 kHz on all 384 channels and perform automatic
compensation on all 384 channels in 20 seconds, while still maintaining
the low noise performance our customers have come to expect," states Brian
Anderson, Lead Software Engineer. "Apollo finally makes High Throughput
Screening of ion channels possible."
Apollo consists of a 16-bit, 8 Msps Digitizer and up to eight 48-channel
amplifier boards, all housed in a compact chassis measuring just 8.2" x
7.5" x 14" (21 cm x 19 cm x 36 cm). Apollo interfaces to the computer
through a single USB cable. Each amplifier channel is fully featured with
integrated headstage, two Rf settings, series resistance compensation,
fast and slow capacitance compensations, junction potential offset
adjustment, analog leak compensation, ZAP, Bessel filter and internal
model cell. Apollo is offered in a bilayer version, Apollo-B, configured
optimally for recording from bilayers.
The Apollo comes with easy-to-use recording software, TecellaLab, as well
as a full-featured, well-documented software development kit.
The Apollo can be configured with as few as two 48-channel boards to
accommodate systems using 96-well planar patch clamp chips. Various
cabling options are available.
