SANTA CLARA, CA, Apr 20 (MARKET WIRE) --
MySQL Conference & Expo 2009 -- Infobright, the open source data
warehousing company, today unveiled Infobright 3.1, the latest version of
its award-winning data warehouse offering simplicity, ease of use and low
total cost of ownership (TCO). The addition of the enhanced SQL Framework
and support for the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS) makes Infobright 3.1
appealing to a wider range of enterprises looking for the benefits of a
feature-rich data warehouse without the high cost. Infobright has also
announced the Simplified Scalability architecture, available during the
fourth quarter of 2009, as an easy-to-manage alternative to other data
warehouse approaches.

The new SQL Framework, included in both Infobright Enterprise Edition
(IEE) and Infobright Community Edition (ICE), delivers greater than 10x
query performance for complex queries by extending its patent-pending
Knowledge Grid architecture to 100 additional SQL functions. Based on
strong customer demand, Infobright has also added the Solaris 10 OS as a
supported platform on x86-based systems for IEE. The upcoming Infobright
Simplified Scalability architecture will enable IEE users to scale to
100+ TB and 100+ concurrent users, and enhance high availability with an
easy-to-implement and manage solution.

"Today, a broad spectra of businesses with critical data analysis needs
are looking for highly scalable data warehouse solutions that are easy to
use and affordable," said Claudia Imhoff, president and founder of
Intelligent Solutions. "With its upcoming Simplified Scalability
architecture, Infobright satisfies these needs by leveraging the
management simplicity of its SMP solution into its multi-server approach."

    About Infobright 3.1

ICE and IEE offer the industry's lowest total cost of ownership and
unmatched operational simplicity. The columnar database is ideal for
analytics, and the self-managing Knowledge Grid architecture reduces
typical implementation and ongoing management effort by up to 90 percent.

New features of Infobright 3.1 include:

-- Enhanced SQL Framework -- With the latest versions of IEE and ICE,
nearly 100 additional SQL functions are now optimized by the Knowledge
Grid, enabling up to a 10X performance boost for complex queries which
    heavily rely on SQL functions.

-- Solaris 10 OS Support -- Infobright 3.1 now supports Solaris 10 on x86
servers, allowing organizations to combine the performance and TCO benefits
of IEE with the virtualization, utilization, high-availability, advanced
security, and performance of the Solaris OS. The combination of IEE and
Solaris 10 delivers a lower-cost, easier-to-administer solution that can be
relied on to maintain high service levels.

"We continue to add features and capabilities that let more
enterprises deploy Infobright at the heart of their data strategy --
without taking on the onerous cost and complexity of other solutions,"
said Susan Davis, vice president, marketing and product management at
Infobright. "This is what has driven the strong customer adoption of
Infobright technology over the past 12 months, and will continue to
differentiate Infobright in the market."

    Simplified Scalability Architecture Preview

Available later this year, Infobright's Simplified Scalability
architecture will deliver a simple approach to support large data
volumes, large numbers of concurrent users and high availability. While
other vendors' products require complex hardware and software
configurations and management, Infobright's design is intended to deliver
the simplicity of implementation and management along with the low cost
provided by IEE and ICE today.

Infobright's architecture will feature pluggable extensibility, enabling
servers to be easily added or removed from the configuration; near linear
scalability of users and data; automatic failover to increase the
availability of the environment; low effort to setup, administer and
operate; and low cost as it leverages Infobright's industry-leading data
compression and use of industry standard servers.

The Simplified Scalability solution is based on a peer-to-peer server
architecture where each node has equivalent functionality and capability,
ensuring no single point of failure. Servers use a notification protocol
to manage transactions, concurrency and cache cohesiveness. All servers
share a single instance of the data which reduces storage requirements and
simplifies implementation and configuration. Unlike other data warehousing
approaches, Infobright's architecture eliminates the need to duplicate
data or transport it between nodes. Recommended storage units provide high
availability, ease management and provide sophisticated backup solutions.

The solution includes a proxy server/load balancer and management services
that manage server configuration, deployment and commission and
decommissioning of servers, delivering on Infobright's value proposition
of ease of use. The software-only solution enables deployment on a
variety of servers and storage solutions include cloud deployment.
