Toll-Free Health Information Line Available 24-7 to Assist When Injury Happens
on the Job
PHILADELPHIA--(Business Wire)--
Intracorp is launching a 24-hour workers` compensation nurseline to provide
information and assistance to employees and their managers whenever an injury
happens on the job.

Operated by Intracorp employees with nursing experience in a range of clinical
disciplines, and armed with CIGNA`s level of care guidelines, the nurseline
gives callers access to immediate health information concerning work-related
injuries. The goal is to assist callers in evaluating their symptoms and
accessing appropriate care services, enhancing return-to-work outcomes and
reducing unnecessary workers` compensation costs.

"When an injury happens at work, it`s not always clear what kind of medical
attention an individual needs," said Intracorp vice president Betsy Robinson.
"Out of caution, managers might send employees straight to an emergency room for
evaluation. But depending on the circumstances, that may not be best option, and
it`s among the most costly choices. Having access to the nurseline will allow
the nurse to ask the caller a few questions about the individual`s symptoms and
situation, then help the caller to decide upon the appropriate type of care or
other available informational resources to access. It also helps to facilitate
prompt and accurate reporting of workplace injuries."

Robinson said nurses can offer employees and/or their managers help in dealing
with minor health issues such as a minor cut or fall, determine whether the
employee needs to see a doctor, and/or assist the employee in deciding whether
it is necessary to go to the nearest emergency room or call "911" for emergency
situations. The URAC-accredited health care call center operates 24 hours a day
and provides health care information at any time an injury may occur - day or
night and even on weekends and holidays.

Robinson said the service also benefits employers by helping injured employees
access appropriate clinical resources in the workers` compensation network and
by facilitating documentation and management of a work-related injury. For
example, nurses will send a triage report to the employer immediately after any
call. This can help cut the amount of time that often lapses between the time of
an injury and the reporting of that injury to the employer, helping the employer
institute risk management procedures more quickly and providing case management
services, if needed, to employees early in the course of a workers` compensation
claim.

With the launch of the workers` compensation health information line, Intracorp
is building on its over 39 years of workers` compensation experience. Intracorp
also has extensive experience operating a nurseline call center, having provided
this service for more than 10 years to affiliates of its parent company, CIGNA,
for millions of people enrolled in CIGNA's health care coverage plans.
