ANGLO & OVERSEAS PLC

Based on a bid price valuation, the unaudited net asset value per Ordinary
Share of the Company as at 17 April 2009 was 89.42 pence including estimated
current period revenue and 88.63 pence excluding current period revenue.

This is based on 77,662,881 Ordinary Shares, being the issued capital of
86,291,319 Ordinary Shares less 8,628,438 Ordinary Shares held in treasury.
