PHILADELPHIA & PITTSBURGH--(Business Wire)-- Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP (Thorp Reed) is pleased to announce that partner Kimberly Brown has recently been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). Ms. Brown is a member of Thorp Reed`s Commercial and Corporate Litigation practice group and serves as the coordinator of the firm`s pro bono program. The Litigation Counsel of America is a trial lawyer honorary society comprised of experienced and effective litigators throughout the United States, and represents less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is limited and by invitation only. LCA Fellows are deemed to be among the best trial lawyers in the American bar, who have exhibited accomplishment in litigation and trial work, and have superior ethical reputations. Ms. Brown has previously been recognized for her trial skills and as leader and mentor to younger attorneys. In 2005, she was inducted into the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and repeatedly has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, an honor bestowed upon the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers. She also serves as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. In 2008, Ms. Brown was selected as the Recipient of the Lynette Norton Award by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession. She was also elected President-Elect of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), and will begin her one year term as President in July 2009.
