PHILADELPHIA & PITTSBURGH--(Business Wire)--
Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP (Thorp Reed) is pleased to announce that partner
Kimberly Brown has recently been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel
of America (LCA). Ms. Brown is a member of Thorp Reed`s Commercial and Corporate
Litigation practice group and serves as the coordinator of the firm`s pro bono
program.

The Litigation Counsel of America is a trial lawyer honorary society comprised
of experienced and effective litigators throughout the United States, and
represents less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in
the LCA is limited and by invitation only. LCA Fellows are deemed to be among
the best trial lawyers in the American bar, who have exhibited accomplishment in
litigation and trial work, and have superior ethical reputations. The
composition of the Litigation Counsel of America is aggressively diverse, with
recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. In
addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism
and ethical standards among its Fellows.

"I am deeply honored to be invited into the company of such an accomplished
group of trial lawyers," says Ms. Brown. "The LCA`s commitment to professional
excellence, high ethical standards, community involvement and diversity
represents the qualities to which all attorneys should aspire."

An experienced trial lawyer, Ms. Brown has extensive experience in
Pennsylvania`s federal and state trial and appellate courts and has successfully
represented clients in complex and mass tort product liability matters involving
medical devices, chemical exposure, other toxic torts and consumer products. In
the areas of commercial and insurance litigation, Ms. Brown has represented
Fortune-ranked companies in the defense of claims of breach of contract and
fiduciary duty, negligence, bad faith, fraud and violations of consumer
protection laws.

Ms. Brown has previously been recognized for her trial skills and as leader and
mentor to younger attorneys. In 2005, she was inducted into the Academy of Trial
Lawyers of Allegheny County and repeatedly has been named a Pennsylvania Super
Lawyer, an honor bestowed upon the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers. She
also serves as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

In 2008, Ms. Brown was selected as the Recipient of the Lynette Norton Award by
the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession. The
award recognizes a female lawyer who excels in litigation and has demonstrated
leadership in mentoring female attorneys. She was also elected President-Elect
of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), and will begin her one year term
as President in July 2009.

A 1989 graduate of Duke University`s School of Law, Ms. Brown also attended the
University of Dayton, where she received her B.A. in 1986.
