CINCINNATI--(Business Wire)--
News Corporation (NYSE: NWS) is attracting bearish attention from speculative
investors. During the past 5 days, traders on the International Securities
Exchange (ISE) have bought to open 7,923 puts on NWS, compared to just 43 calls.
In other words, traders purchased 184 times more bearish bets than bullish.

As a result of investors' penchant for pessimistic options, the stock's
Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) spiked over the weekend. The
SOIR today arrived at 2.82, with puts nearly tripling calls among options set to
expire within 3 months. This reading marks a fresh 52-week high for the SOIR, as
short-term speculators haven't been more skeptical of NWS at any other time
during the past year.
