Corporate Leaders Gather to Discuss 'Re-regulation' at CRO Magazine Summit

WASHINGTON, April 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three hundred of the nation's
leading corporate responsibility leaders will meet Thursday, April 23, to
discuss a "new era of responsibility" at CRO Magazine's CRO Summit at the
Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C. The event will feature keynote speeches
by Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY), chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform
Committee, who will discuss "government reform, oversight, energy and
commerce;" and Choice Hotels' CEO Stephen Joyce, who will highlight the
connection between corporate responsibility and the recruitment of Gen Y
employees. The one-day summit will feature more than 20 speakers, including a
keynote panel with the EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Sussman and the vice
president for environmental affairs and product safety at IBM, Wayne Balta, on
the impact of the April 17 EPA ruling declaring climate change a "public
health hazard." Attendees will hear from leaders from CRO Magazine's
recently-released 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, including a pharma panel
and energy panel. The pharma panel will feature executives from Merck,
Bristol-Myers Squibb and Abbott; followed by an energy session including
Entergy and Hess Oil. The summit will end with a CRO Presidential debate among
corporate responsibility officers from five of the CRO Magazine's 100 Best
Corporate Citizens List.
