Maryland Mystery Author Organizes Fundraising Ride for Rare Neurological
Disorder

LAUREL, Md., April 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released
today by Dystonia Medical Research Foundation:

WHAT: Freedom Ride for Dystonia - Debbi Mack and the Dystonia
Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) -- www.dystonia-foundation.org -- host the
first Freedom Ride for Dystonia (a "poker run" primarily for motorcyclists), a
fundraiser to help raise dystonia awareness and find a cure for this rare, but
disabling, neurological disorder.

In 2005, Debbi Mack published her first mystery--Identity Crisis--about a
crime-solving, Laurel, Maryland attorney. That year, she also developed
dystonia, a movement disorder that causes involuntary clenching and spasms in
her left hand and foot. Motivated by the desire to spread the word and raise
money to find a cure, Mack teamed with DMRF to organize this ride--a poker run
about 67 miles long that ends with an event, featuring food donated by local
restaurants, music, vendors, door prizes and raffles. The first 100 ride
registrants get a free T-shirt. Ride registration costs $30, and event
admission without the ride costs $20. Register or make donations online at
http://freedomride4dystonia.wordpress.com or
http://www.rsvpbook.com/event.php?484755.

All proceeds benefit the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.

WHEN: Sat., May 2, 2009. Registration 9:30-11:30 AM, last bike in by 3:00 PM

WHERE: Old Glory Harley-Davidson, 11800 Laurel Bowie Road, Laurel, Maryland
