Company Also to Present Four Posters and Additional Oral Presentation on its
Technology
PHILADELPHIA & REHOVOT, Israel--(Business Wire)--
Rosetta Genomics, Ltd. (NASDAQ:ROSG), an innovative molecular diagnostic company
leveraging microRNAs as biomarkers, reports that at the annual meeting of the
American Association of Cancer Research it will present data on its lead product
candidate, a noninvasive diagnostic being developed for colon cancer screening.
The oral presentation, titled "Circulating microRNAs as potential blood-based
biomarkers for diagnosis of colorectal cancer" will be given in a session on
Biomarkers for Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Therapy Response on Tuesday, April 21,
2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m. local time. The meeting is being held April 18 -
22 in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center.

"We are very proud to have our work on our colon cancer diagnostic acknowledged
at such an important scientific meeting," said Amir Avniel, president and chief
executive officer of Rosetta Genomics. "As previously announced, this
non-invasive serum diagnostic will be the Company`s primary product-development
focus in 2009. With a potential target market of 90 million Americans annually,
Rosetta`s goal is to be able to launch the test in our Philadelphia lab by the
end of this year or early 2010. We are also very proud to have poster
presentations on our currently marketed miRview tests and an additional oral
presentation on a liver cancer therapeutic using microRNAs at this meeting," Mr.
Avniel added.

In their presentation on the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, Ayelet Chajut et al
conclude that "certain microRNAs were found in different amounts in sera of
colorectal cancer patients compared with healthy controls. Thus, circulating
microRNAs represent promising candidates for robust, sensitive and easily
accessible biomarkers in colorectal cancers."

Additional poster presentations on the Company`s tests miRview squamous, MiRview
mets and MiRview meso can be viewed on Wednesday, April 22 from 8:00 a.m. until
noon local time. An oral presentation entitled, "The use of anti-miRs against
miRNA as a potential therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma," will be given in a
session on MicroRNAs/Noncoding RNAs and Cancer beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Monday,
April 20.

About Rosetta Genomics

Rosetta Genomics is a leading molecular diagnostics company committed to develop
and commercialize products based on microRNAs for targeted therapy and
preventive medicine. Rosetta developed a unique methodology to find microRNAs in
body fluids and other clinical samples, and discovered in the past few years
hundreds of novel microRNAs that can be used as important biomarkers and drug
targets. Rosetta performs its commercial molecular diagnostics tests at Rosetta
Laboratories in Philadelphia. Building on its strong intellectual property
position and proprietary platform technologies, Rosetta is working on the
application of these technologies in the development of novel molecular
diagnostics products.

About MicroRNA

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are recently discovered, naturally occurring, small RNAs that
act as master regulators and have the potential to form the basis for a new
class of diagnostics and therapeutics. Since many diseases are caused by the
abnormal activity of proteins, the ability to selectively regulate protein
activity through microRNAs could provide the means to treat a wide range of
human diseases. In addition, microRNAs have been shown to have different
expression in various pathological conditions. As a result, these differences
may provide for a novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategy for many diseases.

Forward-Looking Statements

Various statements in this release concerning Rosetta`s future expectations,
plans and prospects, including without limitation, statements relating to the
role of microRNAs in human physiology and disease, the potential of microRNAs in
the development of therapeutics and diagnostic products, the progress and timing
of our diagnostic and therapeutic programs, including all statements relating to
the intention to, timing for and our ability to successfully develop a
non-invasive colon cancer screening diagnostic test, constitute forward-looking
statements for the purposes of the safe harbor provisions under The Private
Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Actual results may differ materially
from those indicated by these forward-looking statements as a result of various
important factors, including risks related to: the continued uncertainty in the
credit and capital markets; other changes in general economic and business
conditions; Rosetta`s approach to discover and develop novel diagnostics
products, which is unproven and may never lead to commercially successful
products or services; Rosetta`s ability to fund and the results of preclinical
and clinical trials; Rosetta`s ability to obtain, maintain and protect the
intellectual property utilized by Rosetta`s products and to not infringe upon
the intellectual property rights of third parties; Rosetta`s ability to enforce
its patents against infringers and to defend its patent portfolio against
challenges from third parties; Rosetta`s ability to obtain additional funding to
support its business activities; Rosetta`s dependence on third parties for
development, manufacture, marketing, sales and distribution of products and
services; the successful development of diagnostic and therapeutic products
applying Rosetta`s technology; Rosetta`s ability to obtain regulatory clearances
or approvals for products, as may be required under applicable laws; competition
from others using technology similar to Rosetta`s and others developing products
for similar uses; Rosetta`s dependence on collaborators; the ability to obtain
coverage and payment from health plans and payers for diagnostic and therapeutic
products applying Rosetta`s technology and Rosetta`s short operating history; as
well as those risks more fully discussed under "Key Information - Risk Factors"
in Rosetta`s Annual Report on Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2007 on
file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, any
forward-looking statements represent Rosetta`s views only as of today and should
not be relied upon as representing its views as of any subsequent date. Rosetta
does not assume any obligation to update any forward-looking statements unless
required by law.
