Danny Huntington and Dr. Sharon Crane Further Expand Firm's Renowned IP
Practice
WASHINGTON, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck, P.C.,
one of the nation's top intellectual property (IP) law firms, announced today
that R. Danny Huntington and Dr. Sharon Crane are joining the firm as members,
effective May 1, 2009. Both attorneys are leaving the general practice firm
Bingham McCutchen to grow Rothwell Figg's strong intellectual property team.
"I'm excited about the environment and flexibility that an IP specialty firm
like Rothwell Figg offers to provide the full range of services -- from
litigation, interferences and reexaminations to patent prosecution and
counseling," Mr. Huntington said. "I've known and respected many of the
attorneys at the firm for years, and I know they have the skills and
intellectual property expertise that clients are looking for. And as a
specialized firm, they provide high quality services often at a more
competitive rate, which is important in today's economy."
In addition to Mr. Huntington's extensive experience in interferences,
reexaminations and other proceedings in the U.S. Patent Office, both Mr.
Huntington and Dr. Crane bring considerable international experience to the
Rothwell Figg team. Mr. Huntington is the current president of FICPI
(Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propriete Industrielle), a
worldwide organization of intellectual property attorneys in private practice,
of which Dr. Crane is also a member. They are both active in planning FICPI's
World Congress scheduled for June 6-10, 2009 in Washington, DC, which will
focus on the continuing relevance of IP rights in a global economy.
"Having Danny and Sharon on our team strengthens our international practice.
Their unparalleled expertise in patent interferences and reexaminations will
uniquely position the firm to serve clients in connection with post-grant
review procedures that may be enacted as part of patent law reform," said E.
Anthony Figg, member and managing partner for Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck,
P.C. "Our clients know of the high quality services that we provide in
connection with IP litigation, patent procurement and counseling. Danny and
Sharon follow in that tradition and further enhance our firm as one of the
premier intellectual property specialty firms in the world."
In addition to his current position as president of FICPI, Mr. Huntington has
been recognized by leading organizations and publications for his expertise,
including The Best Lawyers in America for biotechnology law and intellectual
property law; The Washington Post Magazine's Best Lawyers List; and Chambers
USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
Mr. Huntington received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School
and his B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University. Dr. Crane graduated from
the George Washington University Law School. She earned a B.A. in Behavioral
Biology from Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in Molecular Biology and
