Terra Firma bid for AIG's ILFC unit: source

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Private equity firm Terra Firma TERA.UL is one of three groups to bid for American International Group Inc's (AIG.N) aircraft leasing business, International Lease Finance Corp, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday.

Private equity firms Thomas H. Lee Partners and Carlyle Group CYL.UL, and Onex Corp (OCX.TO) and Greenbriar Equity Group are leading the other two groups, the source said. Bids for the unit have come in at under $5 billion, the source said.

Terra Firma could not be reached immediately for comment. AIG declined to comment.
